it was delicious, but in comparison with other establishments, the portions were not so big. for example, there were only two pieces of salmon, I didn't even feel it. in other establishments for the same price they put much more. in general it was delicious, but I would like there to be more food. Update: Am very happy that the restaurant listens to feedback. The last few times I visited, the portions were much larger, and everything was absolutely delicious. Thank you!

Lovely shared Mother Hubbard salad. Thank you for halving it into plates. Delicious quinoa, feta, cranberry, chicken, rocket, pitas, sun dried toms. Beautiful staff. Will be back!

First time visitor last week and been twice since. Live in the area and remember this as a milk bar but didn’t know it had become a cafe. My partner and I love it. The old living space has become an eclectic collection of rooms - cosy and comfortable (although I do find the 2 seater tables a tad narrow when you have your food and phone and glasses all competing for room). Menu is also eclectic. You will either love it or not love it. Must admit it’s not a menu where I like everything (not because it isn’t good - I’m just a fussy pedestrian eater). But I love their eggs (anyway) on 2 slices of toast to which I build up by adding sides. The eggs are perfectly poached and when cut run in to the toast. My partner loves his scrambled eggs. Only complaint, would be nice to have butter on toast. Today I got a side of mushrooms. Absolutely beautiful. Cooked just right. Not too greasy but with the right amount of (I assume) olive oil coating them and perfectly cook - not raw but not overly cooked). And a side of sliced potatoes. Perfectly done, sliced thing and fried. Best potatoes I’ve had in a cafe for a long time. Yum. Cannot fault the food. For drinking I had a banana milk shake. Real banana. Again delicious and I can imagine cooling in summer. Well done. We will be back. Service is also prompt and fast.

Since my favourite local cafe closed last year I have been searching for a new coffee haunt within walking distance of home. Bingo!! ´Mothers in Kambrook Rd Caulfield North. Good range on menu; excellent coffee (Padre), indoor and outdoor spaces; excellent service. This might just be my new weekend brunch spot.

MOTHER Cafe in Caulfield North is fantastic. The service is quick and friendly, and owners Kate and Jansen make you feel welcome right away. The coffee is excellent and always served fast.

Has just opened and still ironing out the wrinkles but the staff were lovely, food looked good (we only had coffee), and the space is really nice. Good vibes! Coffee is very smooth and a bit fruity (they use padre coffee), I prefer a more bitter black coffee but my partner loved their oat latte and my long black was good even though it’s not my fav style of coffee. Will definitely be back to try the food! Update: Have been back twice to eat here and have been really happy both times! The kitchen uses fresh and simple ingredients in interesting ways. And they were super flexible about my difficult dietary requirements both times!
